Meetings
Meetings of the Town Council commence at 7.15 p.m. and are usually held at The Community Pavilion, Pool Hey.
The press and public are invited to attend all meetings of the Town Council and are able to view all public information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The Town Council welcomes comments from members of the public. You can either contact your local councillor or the Town Clerk in addition to speaking at meetings during the public open forum.
Each year in May, the Annual Town Meeting is held. This Meeting gives both councillors and members of the public the opportunity to discuss local issues. It provides us all with the opportunity to reflect on the previous year and formulate ideas for the new municipal year. In consequence, it is important that you turn up and let us know what you think!
The Town Council reserves the right to convene extraordinary meetings as circumstances dictate.
The minutes for meetings of the Town Council are officially recorded and archived. Minutes must be signed (as to their accuracy) at the following meeting of the Town Council by the Mayor.
