MAUREEN-CLUNAN-MEMORIAL-AWARD-2018

In 2013, in memory of the late Councillor Maureen Clunan in recognition of her tireless work with the community, the Town Council established the Maureen Clunan Memorial Award.  The recipients of the annual award are chosen by the members of the Town Council.  To be eligible to receive the award the person nominated must be an active volunteer within the community providing a service that benefits residents of all areas of the township.

This years Maureen Clunan Award was presented to Mr Bernie Buxton.  Bernie is very active within the community and is one of the founder members of the Liverpool Taxi Drivers Children In Care Outing Fund.  Each year funding is raised to enable local taxi drivers to offer day trips for children in care.  Bernie has worked tirelessly to raise funds and awareness and participates in the outings for the children for the past 35 years and is still going strong.

Members of the Town Council were delighted to nominate Bernie to receive the Maureen Clunan Award for 2018 in recognition of his outstanding contribution to this most worthy cause.
